Solana Beach Homes for Sale
Like its northern neighbor, Cardiff-By-The-Sea, Solana Beach is a small coastal town that has a lot to offer prospective home buyers. From its laidback beach town charm to its quieter beaches to its exceptional location, Solana Beach is a community you should check out if you’re on the hunt for a new home in San Diego.
Living in Solana Beach
Solana Beach has a reputation for being a bit quieter than some of the other coastal towns. There’s less to do inside the city’s geographic boundaries, though Del Mar, Cardiff-By-The-Sea, Carmel Valley, Encinitas, and Rancho Santa Fe are all easily accessible.
Situated along the I-5 freeway, there’s also a Coaster Train Station in Solana Beach which gives you options for commuting downtown to work. Many Solana Beach residents also work locally in North County.
Solana Beach is primarily known for Cedros Avenue Design District, a street lined with art galleries, antique shops, and more near the coast. Solana Beach is also home to Fletcher Cove Beach and Park, which is a bit of a hidden gem in North County. Though popular with locals, it doesn’t get quite the same attention from tourists that the beaches in Del Mar, Cardiff, and Encinitas do.
Solana Beach Real Estate
Homes in Solana Beach are very desirable. As a result, home prices in this area are one of the highest in the county. Most homes and condos have ocean views, which ups the price tag. Solana Beach is also a popular choice for second home purchases.
As of September 2021, the median price for a single-family home in Solana Beach is $2,000,000. For condos, the median price is about $990,240.
Things to Do in Solana Beach
Residents of Solana Beach enjoy checking out events happening in the neighboring coastal communities of Del Mar and Encinitas, which have tons of events throughout the year. However, Solana Beach has a lot to offer well. In addition to the concerts and shows happening at the world-famous Belly Up Tavern, there are often things going on at Fletcher Cove Park. In addition, be sure to check out these great Solana Beach activities.
Cedros Avenue Design District
There’s really nothing else like Cedros Avenue Design District in San Diego County. It’s an upscale shopping area that’s lined with art galleries, antique stores, home furnishing stores, local cafes, and more. The Belly Up is also located on this street and many people spend time browsing the shops before the show.
Visit the Beach
Fletcher Cove Beach is the primary beach option in Solana Beach. Tucked below the cliffs, it’s a broad, sandy beach that is popular with families. The waves aren’t too intense here so people of all ages can swim, snorkel, boogie board, surf, and more. There’s even parking, bathrooms, and showers here!
Check Out the Del Mar Racetrack
While not technically in Solana Beach, the Del Mar Racetrack sits on the border of the two communities. In addition to horse racing, the track is home to the annual San Diego County Fair, Screamzone, and traveling events that happen all year long.
Experience Lomas Santa Fe Country Club
The Lomas Santa Fe Country Club is home to two of San Diego’s premier golf courses. Both were designed by William Bell and feature ocean views. In addition, they have a beautiful clubhouse, pool, fitness center, and even tennis and pickleball courts.
